Horse racing leaders 'committed to plan for resumption' on June 1

Horse racing chiefs are in agreement with the government’s proposed plans to introduce the return of sporting events amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Sporting events are currently on hold as the country looks to reduce the rate of infection but recent proposals from the government have given hope to horse racing fans.

With Premier League chiefs told they can resume the football season from June 1 being behind closed doors, horse racing chiefs say they are now also working towards this date.

The Resumption of Racing Group will meet later this week to discuss a proposed fixture schedule for races going forward. The British Horseracing Authority, the Racecourse Association, The Racehorse Owners’ Association and the National Trainers
