Valentine’s Day feast at Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant could leave lovers choking on their bill.The top telly chef is charging £135-per-person for his romantic grub on the special day.But it is the wine options that might be hard to swallow.Diners can splurge £105-per-person on his cheapest vino pairing.

Or they can go for the £195-a-head “prestige” plonk at his London restaurant Dinner.That works out at £660 for the food coupled with the dearest wine – and a 13.5% service charge takes the bill to £749.10.The 55-year-old’s menu is truffle and mushroom parfait and grilled bread followed by almond, saffron and veal sweetbreads with smoked eel.That is followed by duck with red cabbage and pickled cherries or salmon dressed in champagne with roasted leek, parsley, caviar and seaweed butter.Dessert is smoked walnut mousse with poached pear, salted caramel and vanilla ice cream.The set menu at the two Michelin-starred restaurant in Knightsbridge includes a glass of sparkling rose per person – but the expensive treat could well be worth it.A recent diner gushed on TripAdvisor: “Absolutely fabulous from start to finish.“It’s very pricey but completely worth every penny for the food, experience and service.”Want to read about more pricey menus?
