Hordes of travellers were seen lining the arrivals queues at Heathrow as border officials were filmed claiming they were too 'short staffed' to cope.
Just days before new restrictions come into place forcing travellers to quarantine in hotels passengers were said to be queueing for as long as four hours to get into the UK.
Footage appeared to show a Border Force official speaking to a passenger at the arrivals section of the airport. In the video one staff member is heard to say that the Home Office department responsible for the nation's borders was 'short staffed and [we] have to work in bubbles.'
