A man and a woman have been fined £10,000 each for breaching coronavirus international travel regulations. Merseyside Police said the man and woman failed to comply with quarantine laws after returning to the Wirral from a trip to Dubai - currently on the UK's foreign travel 'red list'.
They were handed the hefty fines last Friday, three days after landing back in the UK, before both were transferred to a designated quarantine hotel.
It is believed to be the first time such top penalty fines have been issued to travellers for breaching quarantine regulations.
