The grieving parents of a 'special blue eyed' baby boy have paid tribute to their son after he died suddenly in his cot. An inquest has opened into the death of eight-month-old Charlie Matthew Wilkinson who was found unresponsive in his cot, at his grandparents' house, on June 6.

Mr Dobbs also confirmed that Charlie lived with his parents, Katie Benson and Adam Wilkinson, in Wigan. The heartbroken parents told the Manchester Evening News they would never understand why it happened. "Never in a millions years did we think that was going to be your last nap," they said.
