Last month, CHAI — the Japanese four-piece of Mana, Kana, Yuna, and Yuuki — coronated their recent signing to Sub Pop with the release of a brand new single, "Donuts Mind If I Do." The label is pressing the gauzy new track on vinyl, along with a B-side cover of Mariya Takeuchi’s 1984 city pop standard “Plastic Love.” If you don't own a record player, fear not: today, the band has unleashed the cover online.

Their take on Takeuchi's cult hit (which saw a resurgence in popularity a few years back) remains pretty faithful to the source material, while adding an indisputably brisk and sprightly bounce.
