The family of a man whose body was tragically found near a motorway in Bolton have paid tribute to a dad and grandad who 'made the world magical'.

Police were called to reports of a body being found off Station Road in Horwich, near the M61, at around 6.30am on Monday (January 8).

A forensic tent was put in place and crime scene investigators were called to the scene. In an update issued today (January 11), police said the man has since been identified as being 47-year-old Stephen Leyland.

Detectives were initially treating his death as 'unexplained' but today confirmed there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances. Try MEN Premium now with our amazing New Year offer...
