Greater Manchester Police looking for new recruits to join force as search dogs

They're looking for dogs to join their ranks. Posting an appeal on Twitter, GMP Tactical Dog Unit says it is looking for suitable animals to join the force as search dogs.

Police dogs are vital in the search for things like drugs, weapons and explosives, using their super-sensitive noses and second-to-none tracking skills to locate items sometimes too well hidden for their crime-fighting colleagues to uncover.

As well as many forces having their own puppy-breeding programmes, they also scour shelters and rescue centres for dogs that might be suitable, something the tweet says
