Facebook after getting sick of rampant car theft and house burglary afflicting her town of Baildon, determined to put a stop to it.
Two years on, more than 3,500 of the town's 15,000 residents have signed up to the page, with over half the adult residents now actively involved in crime fighting.Mrs Town took action in 2018 after one of her neighbours was confronted by two men with machetes at their door. "The day after that I said 'I am not going to live like this'," she told YorkshireLive."I set up a Facebook group for Baildon Neighbourhood Watch although I wasn't even on Facebook at the time." The town is now protected by a network of committed people dubbed the "Baildon army" by local police.
