Gordon Strachan to Celtic in a consultancy role will be reviewed by the SFA's professional game board over fears it breaches strict rules surrounding dual interest.
The 64-year-old Dundee technical director is heading back to Parkhead as an advisor with a remit to oversee the youth and women's sides – without giving up his Dens Park remit.
The Daily Mail state neither made the SFA aware about the unusual arrangement and the governing body will now look to see if the double role breaches Article 13.
The rule states any person "involved in any capacity whatsoever in the management or administration of a club' can not be involved with another club at the same time unless they have "the prior written consent of the board".
