Glasgow Clan and Paisley Pirates are celebrating strong foundations after securing their home rink for the next two decades.Following months of negotiations with Global Mutual, which saw both clubs’ futures hanging perilously in the balance, the Clan’s subsidiary company Glasgow Arena Ltd has now signed a long-term 20-year lease to become the new operators of Braehead Arena.The 5,200 capacity multi-purpose venue will see public ice skating feature as part of a new exciting brand encompassing the name, Braehead Ice Centre.Glasgow Arena Ltd director Gareth Chalmers said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to confirm we are the new operators of Braehead Arena.“The signing of a 20-year lease demonstrates our long-term commitment to the
