schoolgirl was left with severe blisters and burns on her hand after touching Britain's most dangerous plant. The four-year-old received a nasty reaction after coming into contact with giant hogweed while playing in a park in Bolton, Manchester.
She was hospitalised after the incident, which has since prompted a school to urge parents to show their kids what the hazardous plant looks like.
An image shared by Hardy Mill Primary School shows the girl holding her severely blistered hands together following the painful encounter on Saturday (June 4).In a statement, the school said: “One of our children has sadly been in contact with this plant over the half-term break and ended up at the hospital with second-degree burns."Please look out for this plant in your garden and when out and about with your children."They added: “We have been informed that this plant is definitely growing in Longsight Park."It would be helpful to show your children what this plant looks like so they can avoid coming into contact with it.”With temperatures set to rise, Brits are being warned of the dangerous plant that could crop up.
Giant hogweed can cause serious health problems and major irritation to skin as its toxins seep deep into the cells, reports Manchester Evening News.
