nypost.com“Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek’s death, there’s already talk of his replacement.“ABC News” chief anchor and political correspondent George Stephanopoulos’ reps are reportedly lobbying for him to take over the hosting gig, according to The Wrap.The iconic game show host died Sunday at age 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.An ABC source denied that Stephanopoulos is pursuing the hosting role to The Post.According to The Wrap’s report, the 59-year-old anchor reportedly has been “actively” chasing the role.
ABC, which has the syndication rights to the game show, will have to decide a replacement with the game show’s distributor, CBS Television, and producer Sony Television.In May, Stephanopoulos told Howard Stern that he was interested in.
