Alex Trebek's wife has thanked fans for their support following the Jeopardy! host's death, who died last week. 80-year-old Alex had battled stage four pancreatic cancer, and "passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends." And amid an outpouring of tributes and fan support, his wife Jean has reached out to any and all who sent kind words her way.

Sharing a snap from their 1990 wedding day, Jean wrote: "My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity. "Your expressions have truly touched our hearts.

Thank you so very, very much. "Many Blessings to all, Jean Trebek." Instagram Jean and Alex were married for 30 years, and share Matthew, 30, and Emily, 27.
