Households are being warned that gas boilers could be banned from 2025 under plans to tackle climate change and help the world achieve its zero-emissions target.
It’s one of 400 measures being phased in to help tackle global warming, with other changes including a ban on the sale of high-polluting petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
When gas is produced, it releases carbon emissions into the environment, which in turn contributes to the overall climate problem.
To tackle it, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said no new fossil fuel boilers should be sold from 2025, except where they are compatible with hydrogen.
