The government has said that it hopes every adult over 16 in the UK will have been offered the coronavirus vaccine by July 31.
To ensure they meet this target hundreds of thousands of people are getting the jab every day. There is a priority list set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) which aims to ensure that those with the highest risk from coronavirus are protected first.
So date millions of elderly people, health and social workers and those who are deemed to be extremely clinically vulnerable have received the vaccine, Manchester Evening News reports.
The government expects the first phase of the vaccination programme means everyone over the age of 50 is offered a vaccine by April 15.
