Ayrshire more than doubled during lockdown.Crime stats show that 273 instances of fraud were recorded in the region between April 1 and June 30 this year.This huge increase means that fraud is up from 116 during the same period last year.Police Scotland say the rise reflects a national increase in fraud which is increasingly cyber-enabled as criminals take advantage of new technologies to profit from their victims.
