Frank Lampard has told Chelsea youngsters that they should take a leaf out of Olivier Giroud’s book. The France international has played a pivotal role under the former Derby boss in recent weeks.It is a remarkable turnaround from the beginning of the season, where Giroud could not get a look in.Tammy Abraham was in fine form and Michy Batshuayi was a preferred back-up.
It led to a situation that saw the ex- Arsenal man staring at a transfer away in January. Inter Milan were the most interested, while a surprise move to Tottenham was even on the cards, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
But as Abraham’s form depleted, Giroud has stepped up to the plate. His most recent outing saw him net against Manchester United in the FA Cup.
