Frank Lampard signs two-and-a-half-year Everton deal as manic deadline day awaits

Frank Lampard has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to become Everton boss.And he will hope to confirm Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek as his first signing on Monday.Lampard, 43, is expected to be officially announced as the new Toffees manager on Monday morning.The former Chelsea chief and midfielder completed negotiations earlier yesterday over a contract until June 2024.Lampard was part of a three-man interview process on Friday in London but he impressed owner Farhad Moshiri and the club’s board to see off Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson.He was travelling to Merseyside last night and will take training at Finch Farm today when he is confirmed as Rafa Benitez’s successor.Lampard will then oversee transfer deadline day with the club’s hierarchy.Van de Beek is expected to sign on loan until the end of the season.Everton have agreed to pay his £100,000-a-week wages in full but there will be no option to make the deal permanent in the summer.The Toffees have swooped when it looked like Crystal Palace were set to sign the out-of-form Dutchman from United.Is Everton a good move for Donny van de Beek?
