Brits will only be able to enter France if they have a ‘compelling reason’ from this weekend as the country issues tough travel restrictions for UK travellers.
In a statement, the French government has said the rules will come into force due to the “extremely rapid spread of the Omicron variant” in the UK.
People arriving from the UK will face stricter testing rules and will be required to show a Covid test less than 24 hours old.
A second test is required upon arrival and Brits will have to self-isolate for seven days, although this can be reduced to 48 hours if the second test is negative.
