Kilmarnock man Norman Gee, 67, has died after a battle with cancer. Norman was an SNP councillor for two terms in the 1980s in the days of Kilmarnock and Loudoun District Council.He attended Loanhead Primary School, James Hamilton High School then Kilmarnock Academy.After school he became a postman, moved to Post Office Counters and after the business was split, he joined British Telecom.Later he ran his own post office in Blackford.Outside work, Norman had many interests, including voluntary work with the Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group, helping to create a living industrial railway museum in Ayrshire.He was starting to put together his own garden railway.He was passionate about politics and was a lifelong supporter of the cause of
