Foreign holidays after Covid could be a 'long, long way off', warns SAGE expert

Brits have been warned that holidays abroad could be out of the question until more people are vaccinated against coronavirus worldwide.

Sir Jeremy Farrah, a member of the Government's SAGE, said the latest travel restrictions are likely to remain in place for a "very long time" as the vaccination programme in the UK alone was not enough.

In order for UK travellers to enjoy trips overseas once again he said there needs to be an increase in global vaccinations. He also warned that any measures need to be "comprehensive" which indicates the current quarantine hotel scheme affecting just 30 countries worldwide may not be enough.
