The Staffordshire resort was named Theme Park of the Year for 2020, and is home to a number of world-first rollercoasters. Thrill-seekers and families alike love rides like Oblivion - the world’s first dive coaster - and Th13teen, which has the world’s first vertical free-fall drop element on a rollercoaster.
In the year ahead, Alton Towers will throw events including a Mardi Gras festival, a fireworks display, and a terrifying return of its Halloween Scarefest.
