City's Phil Foden and Ferran Torres got to the final 20-man shortlist for the 2020 award, but missed out on the award to Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund.
This year, Foden and Torres are too old to be considered on the shortlist, as they are over 21, but there are still three names familiar on the initial 100-name shortlist.
City's EDS winger Adrian Bernabe is first on the list, and the Spaniard is a regular face in senior training, making a handful of first team appearances so far.
