An adorable reindeer baby born in the Scottish Cairngorms is the first calf of the spring season. The Cairngorm Reindeer Herd shared a photograph of the new reindeer calf and its mother, with the shot being called "fabulous".Situated in the Cairngorm mountains in the Scottish Highlands, the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd is the UK's only free-ranging herd of reindeer.
It currently includes approximately 150 deer, with the majority roaming freely across the national park.Reindeer calves are usually born in spring, though calving season can in some cases last until June.
On Monday morning, the official Cairngorm Reindeer Herd Facebook account shared the cute snap of one baby deer and its mother.According to the centre, the names of the animals will not be disclosed until a later date, with the name of the calf being revealed in the autumn.
