A Scots pensioner who tragically died after allegedly being knocked down by an off-road motorbike in Glasgow has been named by police.
David Gow was walking on Balmore Road at around 6.15pm on Sunday, February 12, when a collision is alleged to have taken place.Despite the best efforts of medics and passersby, the 79-year-old could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.Police Scotland have confirmed that a 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged crash and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.Sergeant Roy McCarney said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
We are working to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area around the time of the collision.
