Apple's first smartphone looks positively ancient stacked next to some of the advanced models the tech giant has released since.However, just because the first iPhone is old by today's standards doesn't mean it's worthless.

One listing for an 8GB Apple iPhone on eBay is currently priced at £16,456.00. That might sound like a lot of money, but in this case, the iPhone is completely unactivated in the box and apparently still in full working condition.According to the seller, it's worth so much because many unopened 1st Gen iPhones are no longer working because a battery which has never been charged degrades over time to the point where it no longer works.However, original iPhones which still work can fetch tens of thousands of pounds.

In this case, the sellers claim to have carefully unboxed the iPhone and given it a full charge every 3/4 years. They also bought it on the first day that the iPhone was released and kept it in its original packaging.
