Wigan, shortly after 8.30am this morning (July 16). They discovered a lorry was on fire, as well as five vehicles it was carrying at the time.Two lanes were initially shut as fire crews dealt with the burning vehicle.It led to delays back to junction 24 for Ashton-in-Makerfield.The fire was brought under control after two hours, although one lane remained closed until shortly before midday in order for the vehicles to be recovered.The cause of the fire is not yet known.A spokesperson for Highways North West tweeted this morning: "The M6 northbound #J25 #Wigan #A49 to #J26 #OrrellInterchange #M58, Two lanes have been closed due to a fire.
