A major incident was declared by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service after the fire broke out at the Viridor Recyling Centre in Pilsworth just after 12am this morning (Monday).
This morning, a huge plume of smoke is coming from the area and billowing over the M66 motorway. Residents who live nearby have been urged to keep their windows and doors closed.
