We’ve missed you, and can’t wait to see you all.” They went on name two locations for shows in ‘The Wild West, CA, USA’ and ‘Mexico City, Mexico, Earth’.

Glass Animals‘ hit 2020 single ‘Heat Waves’ has officially broken the record for most weeks in the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-charting song in history.The song has entered its 91st week in the chart, officially beating the previously-held record of 90 by The Weeknd‘s ‘Blinding Lights’. The Weeknd himself broke the previously-established record just last year, overtaking Imagine Dragons – who spent 87 weeks on the chart with their 2012 song ‘Radioactive’.In a press statement to Billboard, the band’s frontman Dave Bayley remarked: “Wow, all I can say is wow.“Many of you know [that] when I wrote this song, I was writing about missing someone I loved very dearly. Glass Animals have announced details of a tiny London show to ‘re-launch’ their 2020 album ‘Dreamland’ – find ticket details below.The band played Shoreditch venue Village Underground in early 2020, just before the pandemic hit, to preview cuts from what would become their third album.Now, they’ve announced a small gig at the same venue on August 25 to carry through “some of the things that were in our original plan” that were scuppered because of COVID.Frontman Dave Bayley explained: “Back in 2020 we had this delicately constructed, intricate plan to launch Dreamland with a bunch of special shows, signings and real-life events.“Then… we got spanked by the pandemic and we had to tear our plan in half. I was pretty damn sad for a bit, but eventually the support from everyone on the web was so great that it pulled me out of my mind-hole and I realised we could make a new plan… One based on the magnificent wonder that is the internet.”The frontman added: “We did that and it was absolutely wicked, but I still feel like we missed out on the IRL stuff.

Glass Animals have cancelled both their Mad Cool and NOS Alice sets due to illness.Frontman David Bailey said he was “gutted” to cancel the shows but had no option due to issues with his “vocal cords”.He wrote: “Gutted to say we have to cancel our shows tomorrow and the following day in Madrid and Lisbon. I absolutely hate cancelling shows, but my vocal cords have had it.”He continued: “I took steroids to bring down the swelling [for] the last two shows but it doesn’t seem to be doing theatric anymore and I’ve been recommended to take a few days to rest them so it doesn’t turn into something worse.“We  were so looking forward to these shows, but we’ll be back asap.

Glass Animals have called out British Airways after the band’s music equipment has been misplaced while in transit.For over a week, the band have been without vital music making equipment, leading them to miss deadlines.On June 27, frontman Dave Bailey tweeted British Airways saying: “My irreplaceable music-making equipment has been lost by BA for six days.“I’ve tried every avenue. I can’t get any information by phone or email, we’ve gone to multiple airports to get help in person only to be sent in circles for hours.”Since then, Bailey has followed up with daily tweets as the equipment still hasn’t been returned.He later tweeted: “Any news on my equipment? It still hasn’t moved…Really need to finish some music…I’ve missed a few deadlines now.”Despite the tweets, the equipment has still not been returned.

Glass Animals have announced a three-date Australian tour to celebrate the release of their 2020 album, ‘Dreamland’.The tour will see the Oxford band perform arena shows in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne across July, marking their biggest Australian gigs to date.
