Britain’s ‘Festival of Brexit’ is set to get £29million in this Wednesday’s spending review. Festival UK 2022 ended up with the nickname after being launched by Theresa May in 2018 at the height of Brexit drama.
Officials say the £120m bash will be a “series of show-stopping events to showcase the best of British art, culture and tech”.
And it will "boost national pride and celebrate what it means to be British”, officials claim. The Treasury later confirmed the £29million is just the latest payment from the original £120m budget for the project.
