Family fail in desperate battle to save Range Rover from submerging after boat launch

family saw their precious car float away in a river on Sunday (July 17) after the vehicle suffered engine failure.She told of their desperation to save the 13-year-old motor in the Cornish waters after proceedings took a turn for the worse at the harbour, as they attempted to launch a boat from a trailer that was attached to the back of the Range Rover.

The annual visitors backed the vehicle down the slipway, like they had done many times before, but this time it broke down and rolled into the body of water, although they were able to retrieve their belongings before the 4x4 submerged under the water and disappeared, reports CornwallLive. She said: “We did not ‘go off on our jollies’ leaving car to submerge, we were there the whole time. We watched it happen to our car in the early hours of the morning when we launched our boat.“The car broke down and despite every attempt to recover it, we instead had to retrieve all our belongings and watch it disappear.

We launched at low tide at 3.30am as advised by the boatyard, alternatively it would have been afternoon low tide, but as it is such a busy place we wouldn’t have been able to get the boat down the narrow road.“Unfortunately, because it was so early there was nobody around to help us.
