Domestic Cup competitions could be scrapped next season as part of radical plans to deal with the coronavirus. Football bosses have now suspended the season until April 30 at the earliest - but remain determined to finish the current campaign - however long it takes.
It means games could now go on until the summer and this would have a huge impact on the format of the following season. Authorities are worried next season might not start until the autumn and would have to be truncated - with one option being to do without either one of both of the FA and League Cups to ease the fixture congestion.
