Scotland has been baking in a heatwave over the past week, with sizzling temperatures showing no sign of cooling down. The hottest day of the year was recorded on Thursday, peaking at a sweltering 29.3C at at Threave in Dumfries and Galloway.
The Met Office says the country been experiencing 'tropical nights' when temperatures fail to dip below 20C, sparking sleepless nights for many.
