Ex-Rangers striker puts in 12-hour shifts as NHS driver to help coronavirus fight

A Rangers FC striker from the 80s says putting in 12-hour shifts as an NHS driver is scarier than any football game. Grafter Glaswegian John Macdonald, 58, took up a role as an NHS driver, chauffeuring doctors around to the homes of those in need, to do his part for those on the coronavirus frontline.

He played for Rangers between 1978 and 1986 before moving onto Barnsley for three years. But despite toughing it out on the pitch John, who won the 1981 Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup in 1982 and 1984, says working the NHS during the pandemic is much more "frightening".
