Plan B measures will be brought in to curb the spread of the Omicron variant of coronavirus, Boris Johnson has announced. The prime minister told a Downing Street press conference this afternoon that people would be asked to work from home again from Monday, and certain venues will only be allowed to welcome customers that can show an NHS Covid pass from next week.
He said the measures were necessary to try and slow the spread of the new variant, allowing more vaccinations to be administered, and giving scientists more time to learn about the severity of Omicron.
