Ben Stokes has opened up on the honour of being named Wisden’s leading cricketer in the world. England’s World Cup hero Stokes, who also shone in last summer’s Ashes, was named alongside women’s star Ellyse Perry as the leading ace from the game for 2019.
Stokes becomes the first Englishman since Andrew Flintoff in 2005 to be given the title as he ends a hat-trick of wins for Indian star Virat Kohli.
And the all-rounder, who made one of the greatest Test centuries of all- time at Headingley during the Ashes, is proud of his latest gong.
