Gareth Southgate is on a collision course with Man Utd and Man City over their England stars ahead of next month's international fixtures.
Both clubs have only just broken up for the summer following their respective exits from European competitions, but their players could face just a two-week break before returning to training.
United and City will not have to play in the first weekend of the Premier League season scheduled for September 12. However England are due to play Iceland and Denmark in UEFA Nations League matches before then and will report for training in less than a fortnight.
The Sun report that both clubs are concerned of the strain that could put on included players as Southgate prepares to name his squad.
