Emmerdale viewers were left confused on Wednesday after an ITV announcer gave a warning before the episode. Before the episode started, the announcer said: "Now on ITV with strong emotions and angry words some viewers may find upsetting, it's Emmerdale." Soap watchers took to Twitter to share their thoughts as they questioned why it was needed and whether it had been a new thing introduced.
However, the soap has had several hard-hitting storylines recently such as Meena Jutla murdering Leanna and Liam Cavanagh grieving for his daughter after her brutal death, which explains the warning for upsetting scenes.
