Ellen DeGeneres has axed her talk show after 18 years amid toxic workplace claims. The talk show host was in a storm of headlines accusing her of bullying past employees, guests and even celebrities appearing on the show.

Speaking out, Ellen said she needed a new challenge. The chat show had been running for 18 years and had racked up more than 3,000 episodes in that time.

Ratings have been plummeting in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and amid the toxic workplace claims. “When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
