THE Rooneys are finally ready to move into their £20million mega-mansion. Their new pile — four years in the making — had been likened to a Morrisons supermarket as it took shape.
Now the finishing touches are being applied, Wayne and Coleen jokingly call it a “Mini Versailles” — a reference to the grandiose 17th-century French Palace.
The Rooneys’ pad may not have the 2,300 rooms of the original but it does come with bespoke furniture throughout. It should have been ready at the start of the year but Covid restrictions led to repeated setbacks.
A source said Coleen considered moving in early to give the builders “some focus”. But they finally finished after a deadline was imposed.
