The 58-year-old man suffered what police described as 'serious but not life-threatening' injuries. The incident led to the closure of a busy junction on Friday morning, with buses diverted.
Emergency services were called to the junction of St Werburgh's Road and Wilbraham Road at around 9.20am. ThE injured cyclist was later discharged from hospital.
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed the junction was fully reopened at just after 2.30pm. No other injuries were reported by Greater Manchester Police.
