Mickel Liburd, 18, admitted the charge during a hearing before a judge on Friday. Mr Norman, 17, died after police were called to reports of a stabbing in Salford last month.
Three other men are due to face a trial later this year, after being charged with murder. Liburd, of Barff Road, Salford, is due to be sentenced at the conclusion of the trial at Manchester Crown Court.
