Easyjet pilot 'forces' passenger with chronic asthma to wear mask on plane

A man with chronic asthma says he was "ambushed" by easyJet staff into wearing a face covering on a flight. The airline has apologised after footage showed a pilot telling him that he'd have to leave the plane.

Holidaymaker Nick was travelling from Jersey to Gatwick when the crew on the plane rejected his exemption card. Face coverings are mandatory on UK public transport, but some travellers are exempt, due to health conditions, disabilities or age.

Nick told the BBC that he cannot wear anything around his face or neck due to his chronic asthma. He said: "Whether it's a polo neck or a scarf round your face, the sensation is stifling. "I just find it increasingly difficult to breathe.
