Dustin Poirier was caught off guard when asked if he was prepared to kill Conor McGregor to gain revenge in their bout later this month.
The pair will go head-to-head in the Octagon at UFC 257 on January 23. Over six years ago McGregor got the better of Poirier but he now has a chance to level the score on Dana White's Fight Island.
The American, who has a 26-6 record, was asked on stand-up comedian Theo Von’s latest podcast if he was prepared to kill McGregor to ensure victory.
The question though clearly came as a surprise as he responded: “I mean, I don’t want to kill anybody. “That’s not a goal. I don’t really wish that on anybody.” Von went on to admit that he shouldn't have asked the question as the pair laughed it off.
