They cover all routes in Edinburgh, Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire and Fife for today (Saturday).The government agency said of the situation in Glasgow: "Drivers in Glasgow are advised to use caution due to surface water affecting driving conditions." Similar advice is now in place for much of the Central Belt, covering major trunk routes such as the M8, M74, M73 and M9.
There are no weather alerts in place for Scotland at the moment.But heavy rain and the expected winds will make driving conditions more challenging.
Tomorrow's forecast means restrictions are expected on bridges including the Forth Bridge and Tay Bridge which are expected to be closed to high-sided vehicles from the afternoon onwards.
