A burst water main has caused chaos in London - with stranded motorists needing rescuing from their cars. The North Circular Road, which is closed in both directions at the junction with the Brent Cross Interchange, has been likened to a river.
Dramatic pictures show water gushing across the road, with cars unable to go any further. London Fire Brigade has had to free drivers from cars.
One passer-by posted on Twitter: "North Circular at Brent Cross looks like a swimming pool. Avoid at all costs."
