A senior doctor has penned a diary revealing the trials of his first night in one of the UK's Nightingale Hospital in the fight against the deadly coronavirus.
Dr Niall Eames documented his first shifts in Belfast's new hospital as he swapped his scrubs for full protective gear to tackle the pandemic.
Northern Ireland has been in lockdown now for just over three weeks as COVID-19 continues to put a strain on NHS staff and resources around the UK.
The crisis has seen Dr Eames, a Clinical Director and Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, do his first 12 hour shift in many years.
