Dixy Chicken's plans to keep Fallowfield shop open later thrown out over noise, litter and antisocial behaviour concerns

A chicken shop chain has lost its bid to keep its Fallowfield store open until later in the morning following objections from police, residents and councillors.Dixy Chicken on Wilbraham Road currently shuts at 11pm but the owners argued that it should be allowed to open later as some neighbouring takeaways trade until 5am.An initial application sought to close at 4.30am but it was accepted that this was too late, with the owners instead asking to stay open until 1.30am or 3am depending on the day of the week.Despite the changes, Manchester council’s licensing subcommittee refused the licence over concerns that it would exacerbate existing noise, litter and antisocial behaviour issues in the area.The panel also felt that the changes would go.
