Some big news hit yesterday, folks. Potentially game-changing, in fact. Disney, almost undisputedly the largest media company out there, is making a massive change to the way they work.
Namely, they’ve reorganized the company and are now going to prioritize streaming content. Going unsaid, but easy to ascertain, is that theatrical releases may suffer because of that.
Whether that means the current tentpoles will stay the same but everything else is moving more in the Disney+ direction remains to be seen, but it’s clear that changes are coming for the Mouse House (coming hot on the heels of Soul being moves to their streaming platform), which may take years to fully understand.
